How to care for Children suffering from high fever as a result of flu?

The flu is an illness that no one likes to have; it is horrible even at its best. While children tend to deal with the illness much better compared to adults, caring for children when they have the flu is not a pleasant process. Still, it must be ensured that proper measures are taken in such cases nonetheless.
When it comes to babies and newborns, high temperatures are a serious cause of concern and attempts to treat them at home are unadvisable. Taking babies between 0 and 6 months old to a doctor immediately when they have fever levels exceeding 100 degrees Celsius is essential.
However, in the case of any child aged over 6 months who falls ill with fever, it is first and foremost very important to take into account the behavior of the child above everything else. For instance, a child with high fever, who is still active and acts normally during certain periods, presents a less concerning case than a child with low fever but who is acting unhappy and unwilling to be playful at certain points. However, be very sure not to treat a child aged below 18 years using aspirin, as there is a high risk of this leading to Reye's Syndrome, a very serious illness.

Still, remember that a fever is not harmful by itself and that there is no certain number for temperature levels that is considered too high. It all depends upon the child’s overall behavior, comfort and reaction to the flu.
