How Cold Virus Infection Occurs?

The cold is one of the most common illnesses that occur to people all around the world and although there are many effective medications to cure it, it can still be a real nuisance. At the same time it is vital to know exactly how the cold virus infection occurs.

What happens initially is that a cold virus gets into the nasal passages by daily actions such as a cough, sneeze or by contaminated fingers. Even small doses of viruses are enough to cause the cold to surface. The nose itself then causes the virus to travel to the adenoid area. The virus then gets attached to one of the receptors. These receptors are situated at the surface of the nasal cells which fits into a docking port located on the surface of the virus. What makes this process so easy is that a large number of virus receptor cells are located at the surface of these nasal cells. Once attached to the receptor, the virus is transported to a cell where it starts an infection and new virus particles are then reproduced in the infected cell thus giving rise to a cycle.
